To my understanding, the flashing glow plug is an engine management warning, which can indicate a whole range of things.
We don’t have an exact temperature, but during normal operation when the heater light blinks at the bottom it gets into the 90 degree range, just enough to trick the A/C. When doing the test per the video and the light is solid for the first 20 seconds, it gets well over 100 degrees and should be noticeably hot by the end of the solid on period.

Thanks guys, Had a partial fix for this, I managed to remove the control module in the console, couple of small screw drivers and lever it off from the top edge, replugged the connectors and it seems to have done a reset! It is still going a bit loopy but it isn't on all the time and the off button has stopped flashing!
