To quiet down the final drive I changed to synthetic gear oil (Valvoline 75-115), it makes one big difference. The only maintenance required on the shaft is the rear spline lubrication with moly60 lube, easy to do and not often. It's one fast bike.

900 problems. O.K. been riding since 1959 and have had everything going and some no longer going so I know all bikes have their own 'quirks'. I need to downsize from my C-90 at my age (knees are shot, back spasms etc). Really like the looks and feel of the 900. But one of main reasons not to go Suzuki again is their p*ssy electrical system.

It runs good at highway speeds but when getting going it sometimes hesitates/stumbles when I give it just a little throttle. It is worse when cold but still sometimes does it when warm too.
