The .22 Magnum is my favorite "survival" round. A lot of ammo can be carried in a small space and the round kills all out of proportion to its size. Finding the right rifle to wrap around the cartridge however is somewhat difficult. For a survival rifle it has to be stainless and prefeably have a synthetic stock. A member here on RFC recommended the 917 stock for my 882. I found the trigger guards (both blue and stainless) as well as some other parts at Brownell's.
