The design of the CalTPA is purposefully formative in nature, providing the opportunity for a candidate to complete one cycle, receive scores and feedback, and then complete the second. The two cycles should be woven into the preparation program; the candidate should not experience the CalTPA as an additional expectation of the preparation program.
