It does tell you the correct weapon to kill with in the quest itself. For example, if you use must kill 5 zombies or 5 animals, it maybe that you must use a pipe pistol to do so. However it will give you the pipe pistol and ammunition to do so at the end of the last quest. 2-nd is completed, but I have no 3-rd quest!

Take that specific book from cm and read it again. I've never played DF, but WotW has a similar class quest route. I searched the quests.xml file (in the mod folder) for the correct quest name, and in the console typed 'givequest [questname]'.
