Test continuity of all relevant wires and connections. Have not tested the reactor and stabilizer because I believe they are downstream of the problem. I do have some questions about it i never really did much welding before just in metals in high school and i never owned a welder till now so now i can start with freshing up lol. but the welding does need ... I recently got a Bluestar 2E, serial no. HK259114 I believe. I was welding with it, broke my arc, and then the engine kicked into high idle. There is no power coming from the weld leads or the electrical outlets and the engine stays in high idle. I opened it up and I may have found 2 issues for this. One is the Resister, PartI bought this from a friend who ran it out of oil. Looks like finding a complete Tecumseh engine is not gonna happen locally. It's a OH160 engine that apparently went out of production 20 years ago. Serial number tell me welder was built in 1981. The welder works, or did until the rod & crank gave up. Should be approximately 5ohms with the plunger extended and approximately 24ohms with the plunger pushed firmly all the way in. My guess is the pull winding has failed and you'll probably get the 24ohms reading with the plunger extended or pushed ...

Oh160. 170096a. 0079e. Those engines were made last about 1995 and Tecumseh the maker has been out of business since 2005. I would think I would contact Miller and see if they have any recommendation. I would also try the closest welding supply company that sells Miller and see what they have for suggestions.
