It requires players to sneak up on a black bear and get a clear image of it from close range. Due to how easily animals spook upon approach, it's a mission that quite a few players struggle with.
Pop a tent and sleep till an hour before the need time starts, and then wait. A lot of the level 2's in this game are like that. There are so small that foilage conceals them really well, and they all have amazing senses so they bolt at the sound of a pin dropping 200 yards away. Just completed Doc 26 at South lake in Layton Lakes. Circled the whole lake and did not find a single whitetail track or pile of poop. Plopped tent down at 2 pm game time went back around 6 pm. Spotted 3 of them on the other side of the lake. Set up a tent and a blind right where he was. Slept a couple of times. Seems like I saw him mostly during the morning. He came wandering back but stopped and wouldn't come out on the peninsula. Spotted him first. Snuck up crawling really slow, got under a tree and raised to a crouch, snapped the pic at about 30 meters.

I can speak about Layton Lakes only, where I try to put my tents (six of them) spread out evenly between outposts. One or two of them are directly below lookout towers, one near Kraken Bridge, one on top of a hill, one at a hunting spot, one down south near the southern edge of the map. #3.
