Sounds like you have a Genie an a Mini Genie. Since the small box is a Client, not a receiver, it gets all info from the main box (cannot work by itself). Verify coax is finger tight to both boxes. Red button reset the main Genie. Once Genie finished (not before) reset Mini Genie. That should resynch them.
