Duramax ticking noise.

Ticking noise when accelerating. The new to me Duramax has a ticking noise going on as soon as you step on the gas. It is present from around 1000rpms to 2700 rpms. If I´m flooring it it goes away and it goes away as soon as I let of the pedal.. I haven´t checked the injector balance rates because I´m lacking the tools.The noise could be described as an irregular ticking or clacking sound, like random typing on a mechanical typewriter. This condition has been present in diesel engines produced for the last 20 or more years. The overall noise reduction in engines produced today makes this noise seem new when, in fact, it was masked by other noises in the past.Engine noise drops dramatically. Weird ticking noise on 2015. It only happens while the truck is running and it's coming from the engine clearly herd from the wheel wells. It sounds like a hot exhaust cooling down and the crack/pop/ticks you get. Again it happens ONLY while running and the truck is not in a regen.

To see if its injectors get some one with a good scan tool to go along and deactivate injectors one by one. If tick stops with x injector that’s the culprit. When at idle (in park or drive doesn't matter) there is a loud ticking noise coming from what sounds like drivers side rear of engine. It is only at idle as soon as throttle is given it goes away.
