The standard width for the subs and compacts is 1.18" wide. So, if the the G30s is 1.10" or even 1.18" wide for all that matter, and has a better grip fron to back (G30SF vs. original G30) and excepts my original G30/G21 mags, then my next Glock is the G30s. A call to Glock tomorrow will clarify this 100%.

The 30 and 30SF are the same except for the frame. The 30SF frame will feel better in your hand. The frame on the 30SF and 30S are the same. The 30S uses the Glock 36 slide on the 30SF frame. If you are getting it to use as a range toy then get the 30SF. It is actually a G30SF with a G36 slide which trims off weight and size. You will find most accessory manufactures do not yet have the G30S in their product options.
