Hey guys, I've got a 2017 Legacy 2.5L and I've noticed some strange behavior recently with the CVT. When I first start the car and shift into reverse the CVT makes a brief whine. It only lasts about 1 second and no more. It doesn't make the noise if I switch from Park into Drive quickly or into Neutral, but will if I go from Park into Reverse.

While in fail-safe / limp mode, it seems to stay in gear, which is probably done by changing the way the CVT oil flows through the components.. which would explain the hydraulic "whining" noise.
