I'm trading In my Benneli nova pump 20ga. Wanting to get a semi auto 20ga for my early timber hunts. What's everyone's thoughts on the benelli M2 v the franchi affinity in 20ga. I got the affinity and have zero regrets. I got the walnut version for about $600 on gunbroker where the M2 was significantly more without offering much benefit for my use. I think the major differences would be the affinity being a little more heavy, and maybe the benelli having the recoil reducing stock, depending on the specific model. 2. it is a budget Performance Shop M2. many of the same improvements----big bolt release button, big bolt handle, enlarged loading port. just a fantastic setup. can't comment on function but I'm shocked the BBF family allowed such trick features on one of their cheapest autos when they charge a major premium for them on the Benelli guns.

The Benelli barrels will not fit the Franchi, location of the lug/recoil spring and the fact the Benelli barrel will probably set you back $500 makes this unfeasible and unrealistic. Winchester SX3 20ga had a full synthetic version at one time.I have a Affinity 3 and an A400(and a Benelli M2). The Affinity 3 is strictly for hunting for me: it’s got a 26” barrel and is nice and light for quick shots, great fit and finish. If you want inertia and are just starting out, the Affinity 3 or the Benelli M2 are the 2 I recommend most. For gas guns, the A400 is the top contender imo.

The Affinity is built by Benelli in the same plant. Looks and feels a bit like the Benelli M2, but the recoil spring is in the forearm and not the stock. With the Affinity's super long receiver, it has a longer sight plane than my 28" Remington 1100 LT-20. Can't say enough good things about the new Franchi Affinity.

If that's what you consider "low base", then you have nothing to worry about. Benelli is more "high quality", where the workmanship on the Stoeger is not nearly as good.
