Apparently a BTSI solenoid stopped working and the vehicle did not know when it was in park, therefore it would not allow the key to be removed.If you DIY. . usually the transmission would drain only 4.5 to maybe 6.5 quarts. Then refill with exactly the same amount. That will only be about 45% or so of the total fluid. Then drive it a few days or week and repeat. That would effectively leave some 92% or so of fresh new fluid in the transmission.
