Hi all. Periodically I'm getting a "Service Charging System" message on the dash and power steering cuts out. Seems to only happen at idle and only randomly and usually goes away quickly. Voltage meter on the dash appears to be low as well when it happens. Took it to the dealership and they replaced the alternator but that clearly didn't fix it. The control module records the operating conditions at the time the diagnostic fails. The control module stores this information in the Freeze Frame and/or the Failure Records. The control module commands the TAC system to operate in the Reduced Engine Power mode. A message center or an indicator displays Reduced Engine Power.

The ones experiencing the service charging error, for a small few here this been resolved by PIM replacement, but the majority has been the transaxle. As for the transaxle failures, it could be hardware due to reports of black fluid and metal in them.
