From my knowledge, a LUT essentially is designed to allow a program to take an input, and give an output based on that. For example, Assetto Corsa uses LUTs in almost every aspect of their cars pertaining to suspensions, and even the engines, MGU-K, and turbos. This is also very useful for pre calculating physics variables for performance reasons.
