Most maps need something like 7mm or .300 magnum if you have it, a gun which takes 30-06 ammo, .270 and a .22 for birds and rabbits of you're interested in that. If it's too heavy you'll have to prioritise. All ammo, lures and equipment keep same mass no matter how many you load. For example 5 goose decoys same mass as 20 or whatever.
I had to earn another 12,000 in order to by the Huntsman and then I was able to load ammo and equip the scope. The other 270 has to be unlocked before you can use it in a competition. for me, the "best" choices with 3 weapons, others are possible: 1. the 30-06, even fairly useful for big game like bison with good lung shots. 2. by far the best multi-use-rifle is the DLC Mosin-Nagant 7,62 mm. 3. the 0.223 (perfect for red fox) or Nordin 20 SA Shotgun or the Koter 65 Hephaestus. #6.

You walk up and get the store. I suggest you do the first five or so missions on Layton or Hirsch and learn the game a bit better. You find the cabins and when you claim it or whatever a locker shows up and you go to it and can buy the weapons if you got a dlc they are free.
