Short pin protrusion is easy to fix on a 39. If you look at the pin, you'll see a big shoulder at the front where it hits the front of the firing pin slot in the bolt. File a bit off this until the pin sticks out enough, but not enough that it dents the chamber edge. Proceed slowly and preferably with a mike or a good set of calipers.
